About Nakodo

Nakodo finds YouTube creators who fit a brand. It reads your website, searches YouTube for creators who make videos about what you sell, and scores each one from 0 to 100 with the reasons written out. Then it emails the creators you choose, at the address they publish, follows up, answers their questions, and introduces you to the ones who say yes.

Who builds it

Nakodo is run by Daniel Pertu, a sole trader. He builds the product and answers the email at hello@nakodo.app himself.

The name is Japanese: 仲人, nakōdo, is the go-between who makes an introduction, and who is expected to know both sides well enough to make a good one. The kingfisher you will see around the site is called Alcy.

How it treats creators' data

Creators are people with inboxes, not a list to be worked through. These rules are how the code behaves, not an aspiration:

  1. 01Nakodo only writes to emails creators publish for business: in their channel and video descriptions, or on the website or link page they link to. Each one shows where it was found.
  2. 02Nakodo never gets around YouTube's captcha, never logs in as anyone and never guesses an email address.
  3. 03Creators' addresses are never shown to brands, sold or exported. A brand gets one only when the creator says yes and Nakodo introduces them.
  4. 04Every email has a one-click way to stop. A creator who uses it, or whose address bounces, is never emailed through Nakodo again.
  5. 05Comment analysis keeps counts only, never the comments or who wrote them. YouTube data is refreshed or deleted within 30 days.
  6. 06No tracking cookies, on this site or in the app. The only cookie keeps you signed in.

The whole method, including how the score is weighted, is on how Nakodo works. What is stored and for how long is in the privacy notice.

Also from the same maker

Five apps come from the same maker, and they look unrelated because they are: a quiz night for a pub and a food scanner for people with IBS share no audience at all. What they have in common is how they are built. Each one does a single job properly, shows the reasoning behind what it tells you, and never dresses a guess up as a fact.

  • CogniPrep

Practice for the psychometric and game based tests employers set when hiring.

Employers screen candidates with game based and psychometric tests long before anyone reads a CV, and most people meet one for the first time under a timer. CogniPrep is practice for exactly those: simulations of the real assessments from Arctic Shores, SHL, Watson Glaser, Hogan and the rest, pages for the specific employers that use them, and practice for the interviews that follow. Every attempt comes back with feedback, because a score with no explanation teaches you nothing.

  • Munchable

Scan a food barcode and see whether it fits your gut condition.

A gut condition turns every food label into homework: an ingredients list in tiny type, read in a shop aisle, against rules you half remember. Munchable reads the barcode and answers in one of three words, good fit, caution or avoid, with the reasons written underneath. It runs a separate rule set for each of the seven conditions it covers, from IBS and low FODMAP through to reflux, SIBO and IBD, and when two of your conditions disagree about an ingredient it shows you the disagreement rather than quietly picking a side.

  • Notifio

Watches rental listing sites and alerts you the moment a new listing appears.

Rental listings go in minutes, and the people who get them are the ones who saw them first. Notifio watches the sites you care about and alerts you by desktop notification and email the moment something new is posted, so you are replying while the listing is still warm. It runs on your own Mac or Windows machine rather than as a service that logs in on your behalf, which is why the searches you monitor and the details you save never leave your computer.

  • PubTrivia

Live quiz nights for pubs and bars, with players joining from their own phones.

A quiz night usually means printed answer sheets, a microphone and somebody marking papers between rounds. PubTrivia replaces all three: you host from one screen, players join by scanning the code on their table, and the scores and the leaderboard update live as answers come in. There is nothing for players to install, question packs come with it, and every session stays in your history afterwards.

All five are built by Daniel Pertu. CogniPrep is published by Sonacode Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales; Munchable, Nakodo, Notifio and PubTrivia are run by him as a sole trader.
